Rebecca Dawn Jolitz loves science fiction, filmmaking, and astronomy. At star parties for the public, Rebecca has showed people the planets and stars (her favorite double is Alberio, the blue and gold "Cal star") with her Celestron C-5 telescope. Rebecca has even taken her telescope to Stanford Tech Trek to demonstrate how SCT telescopes work, even though she wants to major in astrophysics at Cal. She loves going to Cal Day every year, especially to see Professor Shugart do his "Fun with Physics" lecture.

Rebecca is an accomplished video editor and producer, and has created movies for film festivals. See her films at "Jolitz Family Video Producers - Rebecca Jolitz". She currently works on a research project on video serving for educational use using a modern version of Berkeley Unix 386BSD (Jolix). Rebecca likes needlework, playing the guitar, and collecting Breyer horses.

Rebecca Jolitz, a student at Loma Prieta School, is the producer, director, and star of Mystery Festival (see "Jolitz Family Video - The Mystery Festival"). Mystery Festival made its debut in the "drama - 5th grade" catagory on April 9, 2005 at the first annual Windy Hill Kids Film Festival in Atherton, California.

Mystery Festival is an upbeat short detective film where Rebecca and her friends at school solve a mystery.

Rebecca Jolitz, a student at Loma Prieta Elementary School, demonstrated proper telescope usage to California middle school girls at Stanford University's Tech Trek in June 2004, using her own Celestron C-5 Schmidt-Cassagrain telescope. Rebecca has been fascinated with astronomy and physics "ever since I was little".

Suffice to say, Rebecca says she would like to major in astrophysics at Berkeley, the university where her mother received her degree in physics, and loves to attend Cal Day every year. She regularly attends lectures on astronomy here in Silicon Valley, home of NASA Ames.
