386BSD R1.0 Reference CD-ROM: Modular Kernel Design
Modular Kernel Design, and Lynne Greer Jolitz . Starting with Release 1.0, the 386BSD kernel was radically changed. Utilizing the lessons learned in modular design, the kernel is transformed into independent modules that may be included into the kernel program simply by adding a line into a parameterized makefile describing a system (ex: odysseus.mk). This is novel work done for 386BSD Release 1.0.
