RE: Cyberbullying 101 (Just An Online Minute, 01/12)
So people are just starting to notice [cyber bullying]? When I wrote about the first open source operating system for Dr. Dobbs Journal back in the early 1990s, I had all kinds of crazy people show up on my doorstep (some literally). The tech side has had a long history of bullying, blacklisting, and banditry to get what they want, and it's all online.
Unlike writing in a magazine or newspaper with editorial control, the Internet DNA has always been about dominating in communications and subverting control. As usual, the early tech adopters just showed everyone else the way.
